Job description

Position: Process Technician
Location: Garland, TX

Type: Full-time, On-site
Summary:
Manufacturing support position with responsibilities focused on optimizing and maintaining production processes and product scrap reduction.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Perform first-piece start up process verification activities.
  • Make sure the correct Process Monitoring Sheet is at the press when a mold change, material change, or insert change is completed.
  • Remove the old process control sheet and file when there is a mold change or insert change.
  • Perform process verification checks and log results as defined by the product PMS.
  • Respond to calls from operators regarding product/process questions and/or concerns.
  • Completed assigned area of First Piece Approval document(s).
  • Identify needed machine and tool repairs and initiate appropriate work order(s).

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Verify end-of-arm tooling for robots, as needed, and initiate robot program or proper cam settings.
  • Set up decorating equipment per Master Process Control Sheet, as needed.
  • Perform BOM verifications as needed.
  • Change the Process Monitoring Sheet when full or after mold change, material change, or insert change.
  • Participate, as needed, in internal problem-solving/improvement activities.
  • Other Duties as assigned by supervision.

Other requirements:
  • High school diploma or general education degree; or 3 months related experience and/or training.
  • All employees are responsible for complying with the safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Perform basic math functions - addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and proportions.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of associates.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, including safety rules, operating instructions, and system docs.
  • Ability to actively participate in problem-solving activities.
  • Able to support overtime during the week or weekends.
