The Magna Exteriors portfolio of products includes access systems such as liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front-end modules including fascia, active aerodynamic systems and other lightweight structural components for automotive, commercial truck and other industrial markets.

Job Responsibilities:

Job Profile: The Mould Process Lead Hand is responsible for providing setup support to production and the team.

QUALIFICATIONS NECESSARY TO DO THE JOB:

  • Immediate, open position
  • $37.61 - $41.64 per hour
  • Minimum three years experience as a set up technician required and minimum grade 12 required.
  • RJG Mold Master I training, towmotor, crane and tugger license an asset.
  • Previous leadership experience required.
  • Must have troubleshooting experience with injection moulding process.
  • Experience with tool set up related to processing and machinery required.
  • Previous experience entering and manipulating data in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organizational skills to keep work area clean and tidy at all times.
  • Must be quality minded, safety conscious and reliable, ability to lead and motivate a team.

MAIN DUTIES:

  • Provide support to production and trouble shoot process quality issues.
  • Assist with setup of new tool processes.
  • Assist the team leader in problem solving and dealing with team issues as they arise.
  • Leads PPSR corrective action reporting for assigned quality issues.
  • Labour resource distribution across the different moulding areas.
  • Scheduling coverage for absences. Adjusts labour when required to respond to production needs.
  • Ensures completion of Shift Check Sheets and Downtime in DDC.
  • Seek support from appropriate resources when issues cannot be resolved within the process team.
  • Write and follow up on maintenance and tooling work orders as needed.
  • Ensure that Team Leaders stay informed if yield and cycle time targets are not met.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement project and support the team in achieving their monthly CI goals.
  • Ensures the team follows first off process on all set ups.
  • Complete a shift report at the end of each shift. Perform other duties as assigned.
