Job description

Business Process Architect

Location: Portsmouth, NH. (Additional network location considered: Houston, TX). Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates and their families.

Travel: Will require travel depending on project need for a duration of 2-3 weeks (both domestically and internationally).

The Business Process Architect plays a critical role in the implementation and optimization of the S4/HANA platform, focusing on "Analyze to Decide" (A2D) related processes. A2D scope covers product costing, variance analysis, management accounting, and reporting. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams and key users to test and implement robust process solutions that enhance data accuracy and business decision-making

What you will do:

  • Expertise: Share deep knowledge of A2D and business model archetypes to support the global template design and standard reporting.

  • Communication: Guide stakeholders, capture user needs, build dashboards, resolve local concerns, and prioritize business-critical tasks.

  • Design: Translate needs into process solutions, spot automation options in S/4HANA, and check prototypes with site teams.

  • Implementation: Manage end-to-end module setup, ensure smooth links with other SAP areas like FI/CO or MM, and standardize workflows.

  • Testing: Work with data teams on migration, run tests to check system requirements, and keep clear process records.

  • Deployment: Help launch the global template on schedule and provide post-launch hypercare support.

  • Improvement: Find ways to make processes better over time and fix any issues after the system goes live.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance with 5-10 years of Product Costing / Variance Analysis / Project Accounting / Management Accounting / FP&A.

  • Proven experience in S/4HANA projects and Finance workstream processes (ideally in Controlling).

  • Hands on site controlling and SAP end user experience.

  • Use of JIRA, Confluence, Kneat and/or Signavio (desired).

  • Familiar and/or open to learn industry best practice processes in relevant area.

  • Self-starter with the ability to lead and optimize process improvement.

  • Adaptable and able to work in a dynamic project environment with aggressive deadlines.
