Ledbetter Cowan Law Group is seeking a Probate Paralegal II to join our growing team on Venice Island.

Probate is detailed, challenging, and deeply client-focused. A single estate can involve court requirements, financial accounts, real estate, creditors, beneficiaries, tax professionals, investment advisors, distributions, and numerous moving pieces.

Behind all of those details is a family relying on our team to guide them through the process.

We’re looking for an experienced legal professional who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems, anticipating next steps, and helping move a matter from beginning to resolution.

Experience in Probate, Estate Planning, Trusts, or Estate Administration is preferred; however, accomplished paralegals from other practice areas with strong transferable legal skills are encouraged to apply.

$60,000 - $70,000

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

As a Probate Paralegal II, you’ll work directly with our attorneys and clients and take an active role in moving probate and estate administration matters forward. Responsibilities include:

• Manage the day-to-day progression of probate and estate administration matters under attorney supervision

• Prepare petitions, notices, inventories, proposed orders, correspondence, and other legal documents

• Prepare and coordinate court filings and monitor deadlines and court requirements

• Gather and organize information regarding estate assets and liabilities

• Coordinate asset valuations, transfers, and distributions

• Assist with fiduciary accountings and estate financial information

• Communicate directly with clients, beneficiaries, courts, financial institutions, and other parties

• Coordinate with accountants, investment advisors, trust companies, and other professionals

• Maintain accurate, organized, and complete case files

• Identify outstanding items and proactively move matters forward

• Anticipate next steps and recognize issues requiring attorney involvement

• Deliver responsive, compassionate, and professional client service

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

You may be a great fit if you:

• Have 3+ years of substantive paralegal or comparable legal experience

• Have demonstrated experience managing legal matters under attorney supervision

• Are confident taking ownership of your work and following matters through completion

• Have strong legal drafting and written communication skills

• Understand court filings, deadlines, and legal procedures

• Can independently manage multiple files and competing priorities

• Have exceptional attention to detail and follow-through

• Exercise sound professional judgment and problem-solving skills

• Communicate confidently and professionally with clients and other professionals

• Are proactive, dependable, and comfortable anticipating what needs to happen next

Probate, Estate Planning, Trust, or Estate Administration experience is preferred, but not required. Florida Registered Paralegal status, NALA certification, CLA designation, or formal paralegal education is a plus, but not required.
