Job Summary:
The Tennis Pro is responsible for organizing and managing tennis programs, attracting new members, providing lessons, operating the pro shop (if applicable), maintaining courts, and scheduling lessons, tournaments, and court time.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in developing a comprehensive facility operations manual, including policies and procedures for services, administration, and maintenance.
  • Report any incidents or accidents to the Facility Manager.
  • Assist in preparing monthly client reports and submit paperwork and financial reports per company policy.
  • Support facility maintenance, routine preventative maintenance, and repairs.
  • Maintain monthly inventory of supplies, equipment, and products.
  • Write articles or press releases for the facility as needed.
  • Participate in the Manager on Duty (MOD) schedule.
  • Attend staff meetings and training workshops to stay informed on programs, services, and activities.
  • Provide excellent customer service; monitor and follow up on guest feedback.
  • Ensure facility security by controlling access, enforcing guest policies, and collecting fees.
  • Patrol courts regularly to maintain cleanliness and safety.
  • Manage court reservation system to ensure smooth scheduling and flow.
  • Deliver all instructional services: private/semi-private lessons, small groups, clinics, team coaching, tactics, and strategy.
  • Coordinate social and competitive tennis events, including special tournaments.
  • Implement tennis programs for both adults and juniors.
  • Oversee pro shop and retail functions, if applicable.
  • Submit all lesson and sales documentation to Facility Director or corporate office on time.
  • Promote the facility and amenities to potential members.
  • Maintain an attractive and updated bulletin board.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • College degree or comparable work experience.
  • Previous experience as a Tennis Lead or Supervisor.
  • Strong, experienced, and successful tennis player.
  • Teaching certification from USTA or USPTA.
  • Experience promoting and managing diverse programs, events, classes, and leagues.
  • Experience with budget development and financial management.
  • Effective leadership skills and strong work ethic.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, motivational, with professional discretion and appearance.
  • Able to take initiative and make independent decisions.
  • Proficient with computer systems and office equipment.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and perform activities including stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, walking, and talking.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
