Job description

Description
Build Relationships. Grow Local Businesses. Build Your Sales Career.
Trades Pro Representative Northern Tool + Equipment
Location: Little Rock, AR
Are you a relationship-driven sales professional who enjoys helping businesses succeed?
As a Trades Pro Representative, you'll serve as the primary sales resource for local contractors, small businesses, schools, municipalities, and government organizations. This is an hourly, incentive-eligible sales role that combines business development, account management, and consultative selling from within our retail store environment.
You'll build lasting customer relationships, identify growth opportunities, cold call leads, prepare quotes, and help commercial customers find the tools, equipment, and solutions they need to keep their operations running.
Unlike traditional retail positions, you'll own customer relationships, grow business within your market, and play a direct role in expanding Northern Tool + Equipment's commercial customer base, all while enjoying a predictable Monday-Friday schedule.
Why You'll Love This Role
  • Stable, Monday-Friday daytime schedule
  • Competitive hourly pay plus monthly incentive opportunities
  • Build long-term relationships instead of one-time transactions
  • Career growth with a stable, nationally recognized company
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) benefits
  • Generous employee discount on tools and equipment
  • Work alongside a supportive, team-oriented culture
What You'll Do
Every day is different, but your focus is simple: help local businesses succeed while growing your customer portfolio.
You'll:
  • Prospect and develop new commercial customer relationships within your local market.
  • Conduct outbound calls and follow-up activities to uncover new business opportunities.
  • Grow market share through customer acquisition, account development, and retention efforts.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with contractors, businesses, schools, municipalities, and government customers.
  • Identify customer needs and recommend solutions that help their businesses operate more efficiently.
  • Grow existing customer accounts while identifying new business opportunities.
  • Prepare quotes, assist with bids, and help customers find the right products for their projects.
  • Track customer interactions and sales opportunities using company systems.
  • Partner closely with store leadership and sales teams to deliver an outstanding customer experience.

Who We're Looking For
You'll be successful in this role if you are:
  • Competitive and motivated by achieving sales goals
  • Curious and eager to learn about customers' businesses and recommending solutions
  • Comfortable initiating conversations and developing new relationships
  • Organized and disciplined in following up with customers
  • Passionate about helping local businesses succeed

You might be a great fit if you have experience in:
  • Sales
  • Business development
  • Retail sales
  • Customer service
  • Account management
  • Banking or financial services
  • Relationship-based customer support

You'll also bring:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of sales or customer-facing experience (B2B experience is a plus)
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and CRM systems
  • A self-motivated, goal-oriented mindset

Knowledge of tools or industrial products is helpful-but not required. We'll help you learn our products. What matters most is your ability to connect with customers and provide exceptional service.
