Practical Solutions Counseling is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist to join our team as we strive to provide quality mental health support to children and families in need. Work Environment

This position can be performed remotely or at our community-based outpatient office, allowing flexibility to meet the varying needs of clients. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct individual and group therapy sessions tailored to the specific needs of clients in both in-home and outpatient settings.
  • Implement evidence-based strategies for anger management, coping mechanisms, and social skills development while addressing high-risk behaviors.
  • Guide youth and their caregivers in decision-making processes to tackle challenges within their home environments.
  • Participate actively in multidisciplinary collaboration with the Child Family Treatment Team and other relevant professionals, ensuring holistic support for our clients.
  • Complete required documentation including intakes, treatment plans, and ongoing progress notes in a timely manner.
  • Engage in monthly team meetings to discuss client progress and propose necessary recommendations based on therapeutic insights.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on children and adolescents, aged 3 to 20, who may be facing various developmental disabilities or intellectual challenges. As a bilingual therapist (Spanish or Portuguese preferred), youโ€™ll serve a culturally diverse clientele, addressing their unique mental health needs and aiding their families in navigating complexities that arise with these challenges.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field is required.
  • Active and unrestricted LMFT license is necessary to practice in California.
  • Availability of at least 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4 PM - 7 PM) is essential, with some weekend flexibility appreciated.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a registered vehicle for traveling to client homes.
  • A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical guidelines in practice.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working with children and adolescents, particularly those with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD).
  • Familiarity with providing positive behavior support and implementing adaptive behavior strategies is a plus.
  • Previous experience in delivering therapeutic services in a community-based setup enhances your profile.
  • Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese is highly advantageous given our diverse client base.
Compensation and Benefits
