LICENSED VOCATIONAL NURSE - PRN
ABOUT US
Blue Cloud Pediatric Surgery Centers, LLC is seeking a LVN with a passion for serving pediatric patients as well as special needs patients (both children and adults). The successful candidate will have an exceptional work ethic, positive attitude and strong commitment to providing excellent health care to our patients.
Essential Functions
  • Effectively organizes time, equipment, and supplies.
  • Uses equipment effectively by anticipating patient needs and providing appropriate care.
  • Confirms that proper techniques and procedures are used per accepted standards of practice.
  • Assists in inventory of supplies, drugs, and equipment to maintain availability and stock levels in the preoperative area.
  • Maintains order and cleanliness of preoperative area.
  • Under the Supervision of a Registered Nurse, assists in assessing the physical and emotional status of the patient prior to admission
  • Provides preoperative instruction and explanation of patient rights and responsibilities.
  • Describes the perioperative experience to the patient and/or their authorized representative member, including what to expect before, during, and after the procedure, and how their authorized representative will participate.
  • Obtains pertinent patient records prior to patient's arrival.
  • Explains informed consent process for surgery and witnesses the informed consent when appropriate, patients' rights/responsibilities, and preoperative/postoperative instructions.
  • Obtains necessary signatures.
  • Informs patient and/or their authorized representative about routine care and procedures related to the perioperative experience.
  • Discusses all findings with anesthesiologist prior to anesthesiologist's preoperative evaluation of patient.
  • Provides comfort and reassurance to the patient and supports the patient's right to privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
  • Start peripheral IVs.
  • Administer pre-operative treatments and medications to patient per provider/anesthesia orders.
  • Documents preoperative care per policy/procedure.
  • Ensures that the patient's chart is complete on day before surgery is scheduled.

Position Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Knowledge regarding the nursing process and its application, including the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care.
  • Current BLS upon hire
  • Current ACLS and PALS within 60 days of hire.

Preferred Education and Experience
  • ICU and or Acute Care nursing experience

Additional Eligibility Qualifications
  • Current state license to practice as an LVN/LPN.
