The Irvine School of Music, one of the largest and fastest-growing music schools in Irvine, is seeking qualified Part-Time Violin Teachers to join our dynamic team. We're currently hiring for Piano and Guitar Teachers as well. Feel free to apply to multiple listings if qualified. These positions include an existing schedule of students during fixed hours as well as the opportunity to expand your schedule with students on different days based on your availability. We are looking for a teacher who has both consistent availability during current lesson hours and flexibility to accommodate new students as they register for lessons.

Existing Hours of Needed Coverage
Mondays: 9 hours (3.75 guitar, 5.25 piano)
Fridays: 6.25 hours (1.25 piano, 5 voice)

We will add other days and hours based on your availability!
Position Details:
  • Pay: $26 - $32/hr to start, with increases based on student retention.
  • Hours: Flexible teaching hours available:
    • MON-FRI: 2-9 PM
    • SAT/SUN: 9 AM - 5 PM
  • Teaching Needs: We have immediate openings and can add students to fill your schedule.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Teach private and/or group lessons
  • Communicate effectively with parents and students
  • Assign homework and prepare students for recitals
  • Create engaging lesson plans
  • Attend student recitals and events
  • Participate in ongoing pedagogical training
  • Develop students through our unique pedagogical methods

 Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Music (or current enrollment in a music program)
  • Willingness to commute to Irvine
  • Ability to pass a Federal Background Check
  • Fluent in English
  • Punctual and dependable
  • Passionate about teaching and knowledgeable about reputable teaching methods
  • Minimum 12-month commitment for non-substitute positions

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience teaching children ages 5 and up
  • Familiarity with both private and group classes
  • Ability to teach Jazz and Pop styles alongside Classical
  • Master’s degree in your teaching area
  • Interest in working with young children in our early childhood program
  • Experience with students with learning disabilities (ADHD, ADD, Autism)
  • Ability to teach advanced-level students
