Autonomous Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) – Private Practice

The Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) provides comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages in an outpatient family practice setting. This role emphasizes clinical autonomy, preventive care, chronic disease management, and personalized treatment while delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing comprehensive primary care for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
  • Evaluating, diagnosing, and treating acute illnesses, minor injuries, and chronic medical conditions
  • Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans based on patient needs
  • Performing minor outpatient procedures, including wound care, suturing, splinting, and skin biopsies
  • Prescribing medications and treatments within scope of practice
  • Coordinating referrals and collaborating with specialists and other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care
  • Utilizing telehealth services to provide follow-up care and maintain patient access when appropriate
  • Educating patients and families on disease prevention, wellness, and healthy lifestyle practices
  • Maintaining accurate and timely electronic medical records (EMR) documentation
  • Ensuring compliance with clinical standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices

Qualifications include:

  • Active Colorado APRN license with Full Prescriptive Authority (RXN) required
  • Active DEA registration required
  • Board Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (AANP or ANCC) required
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of primary care or urgent care experience as an FNP preferred
  • Ability to practice independently with strong clinical decision-making skills
  • Experience in rural, community, or autonomous practice settings preferred
  • Excellent communication, patient education, and interpersonal skills

Schedule:

  • Full-time, permanent position
  • 4-day work week (Monday–Thursday)
  • Outpatient setting

Compensation & Benefits:
