Medical Assistant - Pediatrics
Salary Range
$21.00 - $22.00 / hour


Job Summary

Apple-A-Day Pediatrics is seeking a positive, compassionate, and qualified Medical Assistant to join our family-oriented pediatric practice in Oswego, Illinois. This part-time role supports our providers by performing both clinical and administrative duties while focusing on high-quality, patient-centered care for children from newborns through age 22.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for examination and obtain accurate vital signs and medical histories;
  • Perform basic laboratory testing and record results;
  • Administer vaccinations and immunizations per provider orders;
  • Assist providers during pediatric exams and procedures;
  • Support smooth patient flow and maintain patient comfort and safety;
  • Schedule appointments, answer phone calls, and assist with check-in/check-out; and
  • Document patient information accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).

Schedule Requirements:

  • This position requires availability of at least 25 hours per week.
  • Ideal candidates will be able to work weekday afternoon/evening shifts, generally Monday–Friday, 1:00 PM – 7:00 PM.
  • Saturday availability is needed for approximately two (2) Saturdays per month, 7:45 AM – 1:00 PM
  • On occasion, shifts may extend beyond the regularly scheduled end time to support patient care needs.
  • Scheduled hours will be discussed and finalized collaboratively at time of hire.

Job Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required;
  • Medical Assistant certification preferred (CMA, RMA, CCMA);
  • Non-certified candidates must have at least one year of clinical experience;
  • Current CPR Certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross);
  • Strong communication, computer, and typing skills;
  • Excellent time management and multitasking abilities;
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude; and
  • Prior pediatric or medical assistant experience preferred.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds without assistance;
