We strive to help our clients make better choices about allocating their time and money to increase the probability of their success. Lee Financial fosters a collegial atmosphere with an emphasis on teamwork, integrity, results, and fun.
Position Summary
Lee Financial is seeking an experienced Private Market Analyst to join a lean, high-performing investment team. Responsibilities
Sourcing and screening: Identify and evaluate new private market investment opportunities across asset classes, including funds, co-investments, and single-asset transactions. Assess fit with the firm's investment mandate before advancing to full due diligence.
Due diligence: Conduct comprehensive due diligence on screened opportunities, assessing manager quality, investment strategy, risk management, return potential, and structural terms. Prepare clear, well-supported investment memoranda and recommendations for presentation to the investment team and investment committee.
Portfolio monitoring and reporting: Track and evaluate the performance of existing private market holdings against original investment expectations. Prepare regular reports for internal stakeholders.
Market monitoring: Stay abreast of market trends, economic indicators, and regulatory changes affecting private market asset classes. Provide regular updates for the investment team and investment committee.
Collaboration: Work closely with the investment team across all aspects of portfolio management, contributing to weekly investment debates with an equal vote on positions and allocation changes.
Skills and Qualifications
• Undergraduate degree in finance, economics, or a related field.
• Advanced degree, CFA (or CFA candidate) a plus
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in private market asset due diligence.
• Strong understanding of private market asset classes, including private equity, private credit, real estate, infrastructure, real assets, and hedge funds.
• Experience in conducting comprehensive interviews with fund managers to assess their investment strategies, risk management practices, and overall fund performance.
• Excellent analytical and quantitative skills with extreme attention to detail.
• Advanced Excel proficiency, including financial modeling for both fund-level analysis (IRR, TVPI, DPI, cash flow modeling) and asset-level underwriting (co-investments, direct real estate, and other single-asset transactions).
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey complex investment concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
