Household Manager & Family Assistant

Location: Los Angeles, CA 90024

Employment Type: Part-Time | 15-20 hours per week

Schedule: Preferred days are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, approximately 12:00-5:00 PM. The family is open to some flexibility.

Compensation: $32-$37 per hour

About Our Family

We're a warm, close-knit, and growing family based in West Los Angelestwo busy working parents, a spirited toddler who keeps us smiling and on our toes, and another little one on the way! Our household is active, welcoming, and down-to-earth; we genuinely value and respect the people who join our home. Our work lives are a mix of routinesDad works in the office five days a week, while Mom works from home twice a week. Our toddler is transitioning into preschool this fall, and with our family expanding, this exciting new chapter brings a real need for proactive, reliable household support so we can show up fully in our work and family life. Rounding out our family is a fun, highly energetic terrier-shepherd mix who is full of personality, very affectionate, and definitely on the active, jumpy side!

Key Responsibilities:Meal Support
  • Plan and prepare healthy dinners for the family 4-5 nights per week. Batch cooking ahead as needed to quickly reheat
  • Prepare school lunches and snacks for a young child (approximately 4-5 per week)
  • Grocery shopping and kitchen restocking
  • Kitchen clean-up and maintenance
Household Organization & Maintenance
  • Create and maintain household organization systems
  • Daily resets and light tidying (dishes, surfaces, vacuuming high-traffic areas)
  • Prepare the home ahead of weekly housekeeper visits
  • Seasonal clothing swaps as the child grows out of sizes
  • Indoor plant care
  • Change batteries in children's toys
  • Change AC filters every three months
  • Organize entryway and shared spaces as needed
  • Assist with packing and unpacking for family travel (a few times per year)
  • Occasional donation drop-offs
Inventory & Errands
  • Restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies on a regular basis
  • Manage running household supply lists
  • Manage household subscriptions and orders (Amazon, Costco, Target, etc.)
  • Monitor and reorder pet supplies including food, treats, and medications
  • Handle returns and dry cleaning as needed
  • Break down and recycle boxes
Family Support
  • Light childcare assistance on select weekdays when parents need coverage (a couple of hours at a time)
  • Occasional date night support
  • Prep backpacks, clothing, and snacks for school days
  • Kid-related errands as needed
  • Occasional school pick-up or drop-off
Laundry & Linens
  • Wash, fold, and organize laundry for the child; assist with family laundry as needed
  • Rotate and put out fresh linens in coordination with weekly housekeeper visits
  • Change out towels twice per week
  • Ironing or steaming when needed
  • Keep laundry areas tidy and well-stocked with supplies
Deep Cleaning & Special Projects
  • Coordinate occasional deep cleaning projects with the housekeeper (fridge, oven, baseboards); create task lists and ensure completion
  • Assist with evaluating or onboarding a new housekeeper
  • Organizational projects for toys, gear, and shared spaces
Pet Care
  • Monitor and reorder pet food, treats and medications
Vendor & Property Oversight
  • Be available to meet contractors or service providers at the home as needed (not frequent)
