A private household in New York City is seeking a skilled, organized, and reliable Private Chef / Cook to prepare well-planned, batch-cooked meals for a household of 2โ€“4 people. This role is ideal for someone with professional culinary experience, strong knowledge of nutrition and macronutrient tracking, and the ability to manage a kitchen with care and consistency on a fixed schedule.
The ideal candidate will be self-sufficient, detail-oriented, and comfortable preparing meals in advance so the household has clearly labeled, nutritious meals available until the next scheduled cooking day. Proactive communication with the House Manager is an important part of this role.
Main Work Duties:
  • Prepare batch-cooked meals during each visit, including breakfast items, lunches, and dinners for 2โ€“4 people.
  • Prepare meals in quantities sufficient to last until the next scheduled cooking day.
  • Follow household dietary preferences, nutritional guidelines, and approved meal plans.
  • Calculate and document full macronutrient breakdowns, including protein, carbohydrates, fats, and calories.
  • Clearly label and store all prepared meals for easy access, reheating, and serving.
  • Conduct grocery shopping based on the approved meal plan.
  • Maintain a fully stocked kitchen and keep pantry inventory up to date.
  • Ensure all ingredients, pantry staples, and supplies are properly stored, labeled, and rotated to minimize waste.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and fully functional kitchen.
  • Wash all dishes, cookware, and kitchen tools before leaving each day.
  • Communicate proactively with the House Manager regarding meal plans, grocery needs, ingredient changes, pantry inventory, and any kitchen concerns before each cooking day.

Required Qualities & Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3+ years of professional cooking experience in private households, UHNW estates, or high-end culinary settings.
  • Strong knowledge of nutrition, macronutrient tracking, and structured batch meal preparation.
  • Experience preparing meals for multiple days with proper storage, labeling, and portioning.
  • Highly organized, self-sufficient, reliable, and able to work within a fixed schedule.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow household preferences closely.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • English fluency required.
  • Able to communicate professionally with a House Manager.
  • Strong references required.
  • Two or more references from previous UHNW estate or private household experience preferred.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
