Manhatta is a restaurant and full-service event space from Danny Meyer's Union Square Hospitality Group, combining sky-high views with down-to-earth hospitality.

As a Private Event Server, you are the tour guide for our guests' adventure for their event. We are looking for dedicated team members who are invested in guiding our guests through an incredible and memorable experience. Professionals in this role will need to demonstrate exceptional professionalism and work ethic, and have thorough knowledge of food and beverage, our menu, our ingredients, and excellent service. Successful candidates require great teamwork skills, a pleasant friendly attitude, and a strong passion for hospitality and growth.
What you'll do:
  • Consistently support a culture of Enlightened Hospitality

  • Deliver exceptional guest experiences by consistently following established steps of service standards
  • Support seamless service by running food, assisting with preparation, table set-up, and post-event closeout tasks
  • Assist with food and table prep before the event begins
  • Execute event set-up, service, and breakdown for all-day conferences, weddings, receptions, and seated events of all sizes
  • Perform job functions with precision, speed, and accuracy, even during high-volume or high pressure services
  • Prioritize the minute details of service appropriately, and adapt to constantly changing priorities
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment while performing efficiently under pressure
  • Adapt quickly to changing event needs, resolve service issues with sound judgment, and escalate when appropriate
  • Support overall team objectives and operational excellence by completing additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

What we need from you:
  • 1-2 years of similar experience in a similar environment
  • A strong understanding of event service, food, wine, beer, and cocktails
  • Current Food Handlers Certificate
  • Availability on demand, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to balance & carry multiple plates, glass racks and or/glasses, and lift objects up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to perform all duties safely, efficiently, and with attention to detail
