You will play a pivotal role in maintaining equipment, minimizing scrap, and ensuring our packaging films and materials meet the exacting aesthetic and performance demands of our clients.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production & Print Quality
  • Operations: Manage daily setup, operation, and troubleshooting of wide-web flexographic presses.
  • Quality: Maintain precise color matching (spectrophotometry, Pantone), registration, and tension control on flexible film substrates.
  • Scheduling: Partner with production planning to optimize print runs, changeovers, and press utilization.
  • Efficiency: Minimize scrap, waste, and ink consumption to lower production costs.

2. Team Leadership & Development
  • Supervision: Lead, coach, and support operators and technicians across all shifts.
  • Training: Implement SOPs and cross-training to build technical bench strength.
  • Culture: Promote a positive, accountable environment centered on growth, integrity, and teamwork.

  • Process Optimization: Apply Lean and 5S principles to streamline workflows and ensure an organized, efficient floor.
  • Vendor Relations: Coordinate with plate, ink, and substrate suppliers to ensure all materials strictly meet press specifications.

4. Safety, Quality & Compliance
  • Safety: Enforce OSHA, LOTO, machine guarding, and hazardous material protocols.
  • Quality Audits: Perform rigorous in-run checks (barcodes, seal integrity, surface tension, solvent retention) to minimize defects and returns.

Preferred Qualifications: English-Spanish Bilingual proficiency is an advantage
Schedule
  • Core hours: 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday
  • Additional hours, including some Saturdays, may be required
  • Salary position; OT exempt

Work Environment
Active factory setting with noise, moving mechanical parts, and potential exposure to fumes/airborne particles and chemicals. PPE is provided (including masks and gloves). The role involves frequent standing and walking, frequent use of hands/controls, climbing/bending as needed, and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. Safety footwear is required.
Requirements: Employees must be 18+ and authorized to work in the US.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Previous experience: 5+ years of hands-on wide-web flexographic printing experience, with at least 3+ years in a supervisory or management role within the flexible packaging industry.
  • Technical Mastery: Deep understanding of wide-web flexo presses, doctor blade systems, anilox rolls, solvent-based inks, and film substrate behavior (PE, PET, BOPP, laminations).
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage shift schedules, resolve technical press issues quickly, and mentor operators.
  • Quality Assurance: Strong understanding of color management systems (X-Rite/eXact, spectros) and defect detection systems.
  • Computer Literacy: Proficient with ERP/MES production software, inventory tracking systems, and Microsoft Office / Google Workspace.
