Founded in 1978, CDS Office Technologies is a trusted provider of office technology solutions, managed IT services, and printing and mailing services. Headquartered in Springfield, IL, we have grown to 150 employees across ten office locations.

Job Location: Modern Mailing and Printing Division, Springfield, IL.
Job Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our Modern Mailing and Printing team. The successful candidate will operate inserter and inkjet machines following standard operating procedures, ensuring quality production and customer satisfaction in all printing and mailing jobs.
Experience not required, will train for the right individual!
Key Responsibilities:
  • Review job orders and make necessary adjustments to the printing machines.
  • Install parts and supplies (ink rollers, screens, printing plates, and stencils) according to job specifications and blueprints.
  • Test inks and paints for suitability on printing surfaces.
  • Oversee the production of printed materials to meet job specifications and deadlines.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of printing machines.
  • Operate various machines, including but not limited to: Paper Cutter, Booklet Maker, Inkjet Machine, Tabber, Drill Press, Tabletop Folders, Stahl Folder, and Philipsburg Inserter.
  • Sort mail according to postal specifications and occasionally take mail to the post office.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth production flow and meet company quality and production goals.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by management.

Qualifications Required:
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and fast-paced work environments.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
  • Ability to work effectively both individually and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills and a positive, customer-focused attitude.
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Qualifications Preferred:
  • At least one year of machine operator or printing experience.
  • Strong mechanical skills with experience in machine setup and maintenance, particularly for inkjet and inserter machines.
  • Familiarity with tabbers, booklet makers, and other related machinery.
  • Basic computer skills to manage and run the press.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to identify print defects and ensure color accuracy.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally and 10-25 pounds frequently.
  • Ability to stand for up to 8 hours, with periodic breaks.

Work Schedule:
  • Full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
