They set up machines according to job specifications, monitor print quality, and troubleshoot mechanical issues during production. Printing Machinists also ensure the correct type and amount of ink, paper, and other materials are used, and may be involved in cleaning and performing routine maintenance on machines. Attention to detail and mechanical aptitude are important skills for this role.

Effective management of these challenges typically involves staying up-to-date with equipment training, maintaining a keen eye for detail, and working closely with other team members like press assistants and quality control staff to ensure smooth production.
