About the Opportunity
Join an innovative advanced manufacturing company developing next-generation renewable energy technologies. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career Mechanical Engineer who enjoys wearing multiple hats and wants to be involved in everything from product development and prototyping to manufacturing support and process improvement.
This role offers exposure to cutting-edge engineering challenges in a collaborative environment where you'll work closely with R&D, manufacturing, and operations teams to help bring new technologies from concept to production.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support mechanical design and development of equipment, tooling, fixtures, and production-related systems
  • Create and modify 3D models, drawings, and assemblies using SolidWorks
  • Assist with prototyping, testing, and design validation activities
  • Support manufacturing operations by troubleshooting equipment and identifying process improvements
  • Participate in design reviews and engineering projects from concept through implementation
  • Assist with documentation, BOM creation, and engineering change management
  • Utilize 3D printing and rapid prototyping tools to support product and process development
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve efficiency, reliability, and manufacturability
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
  • 0-5 years of engineering experience (internships and co-ops highly valued)
  • Experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software
  • Exposure to manufacturing, product development, or prototyping environments
  • Hands-on mindset with the ability to move between design and shop-floor support activities
  • Experience with 3D printing, machining, fabrication, or prototype development is a plus
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Interest in renewable energy, advanced materials, or emerging technologies preferred
Ideal Background
We're particularly interested in candidates who have gained practical experience through internships, co-ops, senior design projects, Formula SAE, robotics, maker spaces, research labs, or manufacturing environments. Recent graduates with strong hands-on experience are encouraged to apply.
