Job description

Position Title: Field Service Engineer / Desktop Support Engineer
Location: Raleigh, NC
Clearance Requirements: Must be able to pass a 30-year background check

Position Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Engineer / Desktop Support Engineer to provide hands-on technical support in a dynamic enterprise environment. This role is ideal for professionals with strong experience in desktop support, Windows systems administration, and hardware troubleshooting, who enjoy working onsite while also supporting remote users and field operations. This position involves a mix of onsite support, occasional travel, and limited remote work, supporting mission-critical infrastructure and end users across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver Tier 1-2 desktop support for Windows 10/11 environments, including troubleshooting, installations, upgrades, and system configurations
  • Administer and support Windows Active Directory, including user account management and domain support
  • Provide support for Microsoft Office 365, ODBC/SQL connections, and enterprise business applications
  • Troubleshoot and maintain hardware systems (HP/Dell desktops, laptops) and peripherals including printers, plotters, and scanners (HP, Fujitsu)
  • Perform device imaging, deployment, and lifecycle management for workstations and laptops
  • Configure and support network printing environments and driver installations
  • Provide AV/IT support for conference rooms, including Microsoft Teams, Zoom, projectors, and audio/video systems
  • Assist with IT equipment relocation, setup, and installation across office locations
  • Support enterprise IT projects, including system rollouts, upgrades, and migrations
  • Document issues, resolutions, and maintain accurate support records

Required Skills/Education:
  • Associate's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3-5+ years of hands-on desktop support / field service experience
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft Windows 10/11, Active Directory, and Office 365 support
  • Experience with hardware troubleshooting, repair, and deployment (HP, Dell systems preferred)
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals, SQL/ODBC connections, and application support
  • Experience supporting printers, scanners, and peripheral devices
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
