Position Summary:

Supports distribution center receiving operations by promoting inbound safety and quality compliance (routing guidelines and vendor performance), providing process training, assisting with audits and issue resolution, and collaborating with internal teams and vendors to improve inbound efficiency.

Here's what you'll do:

  • Supervise implementation and follow through of ISQL (Inbound Safety & Quality Logistics) procedures in reporting facilities. This includes phone calls, emails, updating the virtual training, and extensive travel completed and identified through analysis of ISQL reporting.

  • Conduct training classes for all receivers, clerks and supervisors in all facilities. Schedule and conduct ongoing training. This includes development and ongoing refinement of the training guide, and the learning warehouse materials.

  • Interface with the vendor community via facility audits, conference calls, and emails to improve the quality of loads into SpartanNash/C&S Facilities. Development of vendor process improvement plans.

  • Analyze reports in Oracle and take corrective action within reporting facilities.

  • Write reports for distribution to facility management and key personnel within SpartanNash/C&S. These include a weekly recap spreadsheet, vendor and facility scorecards.

  • Interface with internal teams (facilities, buyers, merchandisers, et al) to improve processes and information within SpartanNash/C&S and promote problem and issue resolution ( OTIF, Reclaim, Trade Relations ).

  • Identify issues in the supply chain and provide solutions to the team for discussion.

Here's what you'll need:

  • College preferred but High School diploma with relevant work experience acceptable.

  • 5+ years of wholesale or retail experience in warehouse/distribution center operational areas.

  • The following skills: conflict resolution, influencing, negotiating, and training.

  • Ability to work overnight receiving hours and travel as needed.

  • Excel, Word, Power Point, Access, Power BI, and Hyperion.

The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate but may be high in distribution settings. Travel requirements vary by assignment.
