Job description

Job Summary:
The Production Planner plans and prepares production schedules for the manufacturing of industrial or commercial products. Additionally, he/she provides inventory support to multiple departments.
Essential Responsibilities:
 
  • Plans, coordinates, and maintains the flow of both materials and assemblies between work centers.
  • Creates the job package and maintains all work order individually by job number
  • Prints and releases Tyvec labels for field boxes and coordinates the pre-printed data packages.
  • Generates status of work order exceptions using matched receipts and shop floor feedback.
  • Directs the handling of material regarding receiving errors, physical counts, location error and bin restocking issues.
  • Manages and resolves inventory adjustments and history
  • Addresses permanent routing corrections and works with manufacturing engineers to maintain accuracy.
  • Handles scrap, rework, and repairs and expedites replacement parts when needed.
  • Coordinates with Supervisors to provide kits for live parts and items that are not floor stocked
  • Balances team and individual responsibilities; Exhibits objectivity and openness to others' views; Gives and welcomes feedback; Contributes to building a positive team spirt; Puts success of team above own interests; Supports everyone’s efforts to succeed.
  • Works within approved budget; Contributes to profits and revenue; Develops and implements cost saving measures; Conserves organizational resources.

Minimum Qualifications:
 
  • Education: Associates degree or equivalent from a two year college or technical school
  • 1-3 years’ of experience with inventory control in a manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications:
 
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business management or equivalent job experience
  • 2-5 years’ of experience with inventory control in a manufacturing environment
  • 1 year of experience of  management experience
