ZIEHL-ABEGG is looking for a high energy and results-oriented Pre-Assembly Production Supervisor who can be a strong contributor to our heavily expanding company. The Pre-Assembly Production Supervisor will provide a high level of technical service working in partnership with the Pre-Assembly Production Manager, Team Leads, and Assembly Technicians to continuously improve quality and efficiency. This role will work closely with the department Team Leads and Plant Manager to set goals and ensure employees are performing at their highest level, with a long-term focus. This position will require full ownership to assist in maintaining focus on overall plant goals, safety, continuous process improvements, employee morale and engagement, and any outstanding quality and production deficiencies.
Pre-Assembly Production Supervisor 1st Shift
Your main responsibilities will be:
  • Liaison between Manufacturing and the Pre-Assembly Production Manager
  • Manage production schedules, staffing, duty assignments and inventory requirements.
  • Make recommendations on how plant operations can improve service, quality, safety, and productivity goals.
  • Apply standard work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Ensure departmental production team meetings are held on a daily/weekly basis as required by the workload.
  • Schedule morning and afternoon production updates with the Production Manager to communicate standing on the weekly production schedule and then communicate any safety, production, and quality issues.
  • Coordinate manpower requirements by increasing or decreasing personnel and overtime to meet changing conditions.
  • Implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations.
  • Track employees time and attendance.
  • Coach, council, and discipline employees in conjunction with facility HR and Production Manager, and work with subordinates and Production Manager to discuss and eliminate problems.
  • Assess personnel strengths & weaknesses and identify recommendations to improve.
  • Ensure all tools and department workspaces are clean and organized using 5S principals.
  • All other duties assigned as needed.

Job Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of experience supervising/leading people and processes in a Manufacturing environment.
  • Profound experience in using various types of manufacturing machinery and tools.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills, together with a results-driven approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated and an efficient problem solver.
  • Adequate knowledge of informational systems & ability to analyze data and drive results (MS Office Suite, ERP/MRP, etc.)
  • Actively participate in safety policies, activities, and programs to implement and drive results.
