Wieland is hiring a Day Shift Production Supervisor. The Production Supervisor will be responsible for team activities of production employees during their assigned shift. The Supervisor will have responsibility for Safety, Quality, Productivity and Cost performance metrics for their assigned team. This role will serve as the on-site leader and be responsible for all production employees during the assigned 12-hour shift. In addition, this role is expected to indirectly guide support department priority. The ideal leader will set and maintain standards through their own example. This role is located in Pine Hall, NC and will be fully on-site.

Schedule: (2-2-3) Day Shift (7am-7pm)

Responsibilities

Production Supervisor Responsibilities:

  • Ensure team member’s adherence to specified standards of safety, quality, operating procedures and Company policies by acting as a positive role model and by demonstrating behavioral standards in accordance with company policies.
  • Ensures product conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines.
  • Adjusts work procedures and distributes manpower to meet production schedules and shift goals.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Initiates plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals. Analyzes and resolves or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Effectively records and maintains comprehensive documentation of each team member’s actions/behavior in electronic appraisal database throughout each appraisal period. Maintains time, production and performance records of each team member.
  • Performs periodic review and update of job descriptions of team members.
  • Confers with other Supervisors to coordinate activities of individual teams and departments.

Production Supervisor Qualifications:

  • Ability to clearly communicate ideas and information orally and in writing in one on one and group situations, meetings and conducting presentations.
  • Can solve problems and react to production disruptions with a continuous improvement mindset. Utilize lean principles in problem resolutions.
  • Ability to sit at desk and computer, standing, walking, and negotiating stairs, ladders elevated catwalks and platforms in hot or cold production environment on slippery surfaces for the purpose of directing operations and evaluating situations.
  • Works in conjunction with other Supervisors in planning work and determining techniques to be used.
  • Directs the work of other employees. Records comprehensive data regarding productivity, proficiency, behavior and other characteristics for the purpose of conducting employee appraisals and recommending promotions of other changes in status of team members.
  • Computer proficient and can use programs within the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • High school diploma or equivalent and experience in field
