Job description

WSI Freight Solutions is seeking a driven Brokerage Operations Manager to lead and scale our Dallas brokerage operations team. This leadership role oversees Carrier Sales, Account Management, and Scheduling functions while driving operational excellence, customer satisfaction, team performance, and profitable growth. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced brokerage environment and is passionate about developing people, improving processes, and delivering exceptional service.
DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Lead, coach, and develop Carrier Sales, Account Management, and Scheduling teams.
  • Drive accountability through KPI management, reviews, and operational oversight.
  • Oversee freight execution to ensure on-time pickup, delivery, and service excellence.
  • Resolve customer, carrier, and shipment escalations quickly and effectively.
  • Monitor metrics: gross margin, productivity, service levels, and customer retention.
  • Partner with Sales leadership to support customer growth and operational alignment.
  • Develop and implement scalable processes, SOPs, and workflow improvements.
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, training, and development of brokerage staff.
  • Foster a high-performance culture centered on accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • 5+ years of freight brokerage experience.
  • Strong understanding of truckload operations, carrier sales, customer operations, scheduling, and capacity management.
  • Proven leadership experience in a fast-paced brokerage environment.
  • Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • KPI-driven mindset with the ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Experience utilizing TMS platforms and transportation technology tools.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Prior experience managing brokerage operations teams.
  • Experience with TAI TMS, Trucker Tools, Highway, Cargo Chief, Greenscreens, Triumph Pay, DAT, or similar transportation technologies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field preferred.

PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, up to 8 hours per day, at a desk in front of a computer screen.
  • Proficient use of a keyboard, mouse, and monitor, as well as the ability to type, scroll, and click efficiently.
  • Occasional light lifting and carrying of objects up to 20 pounds, such as office supplies or small equipment.
  • Ability to move within an office, including occasional walking, bending, reaching, and climbing short flights of stairs.
  • Clear communication, both verbal and written, including phone conversations, virtual meetings, and face-to-face.
  • Adequate vision to read documents, use computer screens, and navigate office space.
  • Ability to work in an environment with moderate noise, such as printers, telephones, and office conversations.
