POSITION SUMMARY:

Are you a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment? We are looking for a Production Supervisor to take ownership of our Calgary production floor. In this pivotal role, you will lead a team of ~13 operators, driving operational excellence, fostering a culture of safety, and ensuring we deliver high-quality chemical products on time. You won't just be managing a schedule; you'll be coaching a team, solving complex problems, and playing a key role in scaling our operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and performance-manage a team of production operators, fostering a positive, collaborative, and high-performing culture.

  • Champion employee engagement by resolving concerns, recognizing achievements, and promoting a harmonious work environment.

  • Oversee the recruitment, training and onboarding of new employees to ensure they are equipped for success.

Production & Operational Oversight

  • Plan, prioritize, and delegate daily production assignments to meet output targets while maintaining the highest quality standards.

  • Direct the mixing and packaging of batches (liquids and powders), ensuring efficient workflows across production and shipping/receiving.

  • Proactively identify and resolve production bottlenecks, equipment malfunctions, and process inefficiencies.

Continuous Improvement & Strategy

  • Act as the Plant Manager's right hand in identifying needed investments, organizational changes, and process improvements to support sales growth and profitability.

  • Recommend and implement best practices to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and streamline operations.

Safety & Compliance

  • Serve as a safety champion by strictly adhering to and enforcing all company policies, PPE requirements, and WHMIS/SDS protocols.

  • Lead monthly health and safety inspections and partner with the EHS team to investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized facility through rigorous housekeeping standards.

Administrative & Technical Duties

  • Maintain accurate daily logs, production records, and work orders; perform data entry as required.

  • Generate and manage packaging labels using industrial printers and software (Bartender).

  • Operate sit-down and reach forklifts, and oversee preventative maintenance to keep equipment in peak condition.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience:3-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing, chemical, or production environment.

  • Business Acumen:Working knowledge of budgeting, strategic planning, and business management principles.

  • Technical Skills:Proficient in Microsoft Office; D365, Bartender software, and industrial printers is preferred.

  • Safety Knowledge:Familiarity with ISO, OSHA, EHS and WHMIS regulations.

  • Physical Capability:Ability to stand/walk for up to 6 hours and lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.

  • Education:High School Diploma required; Post-secondary certification in management preferred.

  • Certifications:Experience operating sit-down forklifts required.
