Position Summary: Provide support and customer service for the Graduate Research Lab's Print Lab, Computer Lab, and Checkout desk. The position requires 5 hours per week commitment with the potential for evening and weekend availability.
General purpose: Perform large format print jobs and equipment checkouts, help maintain the Computer Lab, and assist students.
Position responsibilities:
  • Serve as the first point of contact for students using the Grad Lab
  • Manage equipment checkouts and returns
  • Perform minor equipment maintenance
  • Test and clean checkout equipment
  • Manage large format and laser print jobs
  • Perform minor printer maintenance
  • Test and clean printers
  • Answer telephone and email inquiries and provide information as needed
  • Answer and assist with student inquiries
  • Perform general cleaning of the lab
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Essential skills and experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have general computer skills
  • Must have some AV knowledge
  • Must be able to solve technical problems quickly
  • Solid communication skills
  • Ability to maintain a pleasant demeanor and work with a diverse population
  • Ability to multi-task

Valued but not required skills and experience:
  • Prior customer service experience
  • Experience with large-format printing and color management
  • Experience with a wide variety of photographic, video, sound, AV, and Computer equipment
  • Experience with a wide variety of photographic, video, audio, scanning, and 3D software
