First Databank, Inc. (FDB) is currently seeking a Technical Product Manager who can operate at the intersection of product strategy, enterprise architecture, and engineering execution. In this role, you will help ensure that major product initiatives are technically feasible, architecturally sound, scalable, and aligned to long-term platform strategy.

This is a highly technical, influence-driven role within the Product Management organization. You will not be responsible for day-to-day backlog ownership or sprint management. Instead, you will serve as a technical thought partner to Product, Engineering, and executive stakeholders, translating strategic product direction into architectural options, implementation considerations, and clear business tradeoffs.

This position will be based out of the Carmel, IN office and follows a hybrid work model, with an expectation to work onsite at least three days per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Advise the Senior VP of Strategy & Product Management and senior stakeholders on architectural feasibility, platform scalability, integration strategy, technical risk, and technology investment tradeoffs for major product initiatives.
  • Translate product vision and market opportunities into technical design considerations, architectural options, and decision frameworks that help Product and Engineering align early.
  • Define and document architectural patterns, API strategies, integration approaches, platform standards, and guardrails that support consistent execution at scale.
  • Partner with Product leadership during roadmap planning to identify technical constraints, dependencies, modernization opportunities, and sequencing considerations before commitments are finalized.
  • Lead technical due diligence for third-party platforms, APIs, vendors, and potential acquisition targets, including structured build-versus-buy recommendations.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI/ML, cloud infrastructure, interoperability standards, developer tooling, and data platform capabilities, and recommend where adoption could create strategic advantage.
  • Quantify technical debt, modernization needs, and platform investment tradeoffs in business terms, including cost, risk, scalability, delivery velocity, and customer impact.
  • Create clear, executive-ready documentation and presentations that communicate complex architectural concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Required Skills:

  • Deep technical expertise in software architecture, distributed systems, API design, platform engineering, cloud-native infrastructure, or enterprise-scale application development.

  • Strong ability to turn complex technical constraints into practical business tradeoffs and recommendations for Product, Engineering, and executive stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence decisions without direct authority.
  • Strategic, analytical thinking across cost, time, scalability, resiliency, security, maintainability, and risk.
  • A collaborative working style and demonstrated ability to build alignment across Product, Engineering, Architecture, Operations, Security, and business teams.

Required Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, solutions architecture, enterprise architecture, technical product strategy, or a related technical leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience shaping or owning architectural decisions for production systems at scale.
  • Experience working directly with product management, business leaders, or executive stakeholders in addition to engineering teams.
  • Track record of operating across organizational boundaries and driving alignment on technically complex decisions.
  • Hands-on experience using GenAI tools (e.g., vibe coding, AI-assisted prototyping, and requirements generation) to accelerate delivery and improve product outcomes to the Experience section.
  • Experience as a Staff Engineer, Principal Engineer, Solutions Architect, Enterprise Architect, Technical Product Strategist, or similar senior individual contributor is preferred.
  • Familiarity with modern cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and healthcare technology or clinical data environments is a plus
