We are looking for you to join our team as a Technical Services Project Manager (level 3 or 4) based onsite in either Sunnyvale, CA or Cape Canaveral, FL.

You will be part of the Platform Integration Team that provides direct technical support to the Trident II Submarine Launcher Subsystem for U.S. Navy's Columbia class submarine: a new construction ballistic missile submarine program.

The successful candidate is expected to be a highly motivated, resourceful, self-starter able to work collaboratively with internal teams and external customers in high-tempo environments. This role will be part of a small, specialized team that provides direct technical and programs support to the shipyard Installation and Test team, and will actively serve as Technical Liaison between shipyard, programs, systems and design engineering, logistics, publications, as well as several government entities to quickly resolve technical issues to meet the shipyard construction schedules. This position will also be expected to review technical documentation, coordinate redline processes, status projects, prepare and facilitate meetings and customer briefings. They should be comfortable with applying analytical reasoning skills, identifying continuous improvement opportunities, dealing effectively with change and being a flexible team member, and possess solid organizational abilities.

What you will get to do:

  • Technical liaison to field engineering personnel supporting installation, test, and maintenance of the Launcher Subsystem and support equipment at the shipyards

  • Coordination of day-day emerging issues with field engineering/management, logistics, system test, design engineering, and production teams to resolve complex multi-discipline problems

  • Action item coordination and tracking supporting test and construction of Columbia Class ships

  • Lead the engineering documentation redline process that includes coordinating inputs from the field, design engineering, tech pubs, and government entities

  • Support creation or modification of workflow processes for problem resolution to ensure timely and accurate support to the build yards

  • Collaborate with UK Dreadnought field and program personnel on common issues and share lessons learned during execution of SITP for Columbia Class SSBNs

  • On-site shipyard technical support to the shipyard engineering teams during construction

  • Problem solving while working on complex technical problems and provide solid and innovative solutions

  • Collaborate closely with key stakeholders to gather essential data for accurate and comprehensive technical documentation

  • Support the timely, precise, and efficient delivery of all technical documents

  • Review engineering change board packages and assess for potential impacts

  • Assist with monitoring progress, assessing project issues and driving actions to closure to meet program goals and objectives

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be highly motivated, resilient, ambitious, capable of developing complex strategies

  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrable interpersonal abilities

  • Have demonstrated success developing and maintaining customer relationships, leading execution of projects/programs

  • Be very organized, with the ability to multi-task and an eye for detail

This role may be filled at a Principal or Sr. Principal level based on the qualifications outlined below.

Basic Qualifications for Principal Technical Services Project Management:

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience; OR a Master's degree and 3 or more years of relevant work experience

  • Experience with Strategic System Program (SSP) operations and the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Program

  • Experience on the D5 Launcher Subsystem and Launcher Support Equipment.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)

  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance

  • US Citizenship required

Basic Qualifications for Senior Principal Technical Services Project Management:

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience; OR a Master's degree and 6 or more years of relevant work experience

  • Experience with Strategic System Program (SSP) operations and the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Program

  • Experience on the D5 Launcher Subsystem and Launcher Support Equipment.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)

  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance

  • US Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications for Both Levels:

  • Degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math)

  • Active U.S. DoD Secret Clearance

  • Experience working in a SSBN new construction or overhaul shipyard.

  • Experience in an environment with strict procedural compliance from initiation through delivery to meet revenue and cost projections.

  • Experience overseeing performance of projects or engagements and utilizing good management skills.

  • Experience providing technical and analytical guidance to project team(s).

Primary Level Salary Range: $114,000.00 - $213,400.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $184,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
