Salary Range:$170k-$220k Strategic Analysis, Inc. is seeking a skilled Principal Technical Advisor to support the Biological Technologies Office (BTO) at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). Requirements:
1. Act as a senior individual contributor who can operate as a trusted technical lead to the Office Director (OD), bringing broad scientific and technical fluency, strategic judgment, and high-value decision support to the office’s most consequential priorities. 2. The ideal candidate combines deep curiosity, rapid synthesis, and strong executive advisory instincts with a demonstrated ability to aggressively and creatively leverage cutting-edge AI tools as massive force multipliers for research, analysis, drafting, and strategic insight generation. 3. At least 8 years of experience providing this type of support to a government agency, ideally focused on R&D. Responsibilities:
1. Help the Front Office assess technical efforts not only for scientific novelty, but also for feasibility, scalability, integration risk, transition realism, and strategic value. 2. Senior individual contributor who can provide high-value technical evaluation, strategic analysis, and decision support directly to the Office Director (OD), using a strong technical mindset to assess complex technical concepts, portfolios, performers, and opportunities. 3. Serve as a Principal Technical Advisor supporting the BTO Front Office. 5. Other duties as assigned. Degree: Engineering, physical science, life sciences, computer science, applied mathematics, operations research, public policy with strong technical foundation, or a related field. Clearance: Secret required, ability to obtain TS/SCI Work Location: Full time on-site at Arlington VA headquarters, DARPA. Partial telework determined by client.
