Job description

Job Title: Principal Security Architect
Location: Houston, TX, 77389
Duration: 5+ Months

Overview: We are seeking a seasoned Security Architect to provide governance, technical leadership, and advisory support across enterprise initiatives. This role will represent Security Architecture in the Architecture Review Board (ARB), ensuring secure design and risk-based decision-making across infrastructure, cloud, identity, and applications.
Responsibilities:
  • Review designs and solutions for security risks and controls
  • Provide pragmatic security guidance to project teams
  • Support ARB governance and risk exception reviews
  • Partner with engineering and enterprise architecture teams
  • Promote secure-by-design principles and resolve design challenges
  • Conduct threat modeling and architectural risk assessments
Qualifications:
  • 11–15+ years in information security/architecture
  • 5+ years in Security Architecture roles
  • Strong expertise in network security, infrastructure, and cloud (Azure/AWS)
  • Experience with ARB/governance forums in large enterprises
  • Certifications such as CISSP, SABSA, TOGAF, GIAC, Azure/AWS Security preferred
