For the past forty-five plus years, we have supported Department of Defense customers by developing innovative remote sensing algorithms, tools, and techniques to deliver world-class data exploitation capabilities supporting missile defense; intelligence, surveillance, & reconnaissance; space domain awareness; and aircraft survivability missions. SciTec has an immediate opening for an Infrastructure Principal Engineer to work with the Infrastructure Team Lead responsible for global configuration management and task execution across multiple locations and compliance environments. Responsibilities: The Infrastructure Principal Engineer will support various infrastructure and compute requirements across multiple locations. This person will have expertise in building and maintaining infrastructure platforms based on technologies such as VMWare, Linux and Windows. They will embody eagerness to create and own processes for enhancing the team and streamlining processes. * Design, deploy and maintain functional systems and private cloud platforms as a member of the corporate infrastructure team supporting custom applications and DevOps processes
* Resolve issues escalated by lower service desk tiers by troubleshooting deployed, cloud, and local infrastructure
* Automate tasks and monitor their effectiveness
* Mentor team members on technical issues
* Create, oversee, and test security measures (e.g., access authentication and disaster recovery)
* Communicate with users to design and field optimal solutions
* Design and implement solutions to deliver superior system performance, capacity and scalability
* Maintain complete technical documentation in support of Authorization To Operate (ATO) packages
* Other duties as assigned Requirements * 5+ years actively deploying and/or maintaining technologies such as VMWare, Linux, Windows, OpenShift, or Kubernetes
* 10+ years of total professional experience
* Excellent organizational and mentoring skills
* Detail oriented
* Good verbal and written communication skills * An active DoD Secret security clearance or higher
Candidates meeting the following criteria will be preferred * 2+ years of team lead experience
* Security+ Certification
* Experience managing storage appliances
* Linux, VMWare, OpenShift, Kubernetes, or Windows Certifications
