Job description

Job Type: Full-Time / Contract Position

Work Schedule: Rotating shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency feeding operations. Normal dining facility operating coverage may include weekdays from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and weekends and holidays from approximately 7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with additional hours as needed for inspections and administrative duties.

Period of Performance

Operations are anticipated to begin on December 1, 2026, following a phase-in period during November 2026. The contract may continue for up to five years, subject to contract award, task orders, and continued Government requirements.

Summary

The Assistant or Alternate Dining Facility Manager will support the Dining Facility Manager in daily operations and assume full management responsibility when the primary manager is unavailable.

Requirements

  • Previous supervisory or management experience in food service
  • Experience in cafeteria, institutional, military, restaurant, or catering operations
  • Knowledge of meal production, sanitation, inventory, scheduling, and quality control
  • Food Protection Manager certification is preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to supervise multiple food-service functions
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required installation access
  • Must be available for rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and emergency coverage

Duties

  • Assist with daily dining facility management
  • Supervise assigned shifts and meal periods
  • Verify employee attendance and work assignments
  • Monitor food preparation and serving-line readiness
  • Conduct food-safety and sanitation inspections
  • Resolve staffing, production, and customer-service concerns
  • Assist with ordering, receiving, storage, and inventory control
  • Review employee performance and provide training
  • Maintain operational logs, schedules, and reports
  • Serve as acting manager when the primary manager is absent
  • Coordinate corrective actions for identified deficiencies
  • Support emergency, remote-site, and special feeding requirements
