Job description

  • Estimate labor and material costs of manufacturing and engineering based on RFP data
  • Analyze specifications, sketches, blueprints, bills of material, and sample layouts
  • Calculate production costs using labor and material pricing schedules and historical data
  • Collect cost data from functional representatives, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Compute estimates for raw materials, subcontracted work, and labor
  • Prepare and maintain historical cost data
  • Create cost models for cost estimating elements
  • Prepare cost reports and present findings to management, contract personnel, proposal coordinators, customer representatives, price auditors, vendors, and subcontractors
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of relevant exempt experience; Master's Degree and 4 years of relevant professional experience
  • Equivalent pathways include NNS Apprentice School graduate; Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate; associate's degree or other formal 2 year program plus relevant experience; military paygrade E-5 or above military experience; or High School/GED with specified relevant experience
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Experience estimating labor and material costs of manufacturing and engineering
  • Ability to analyze RFP data, specifications, sketches, blueprints, bills of material, and sample layouts
  • Ability to use labor and material pricing schedules and historical data
  • Ability to collect cost data from functional representatives, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Ability to prepare and maintain historical cost data and create cost models
  • Ability to prepare cost reports and present findings to management, contract personnel, proposal coordinators, customer representatives, price auditors, vendors, and subcontractors
