TITLE: Maintenance Technician
STATUS: Full Time/Hourly Non-Exempt (40 hrs./week; additional hours as needed)
LOCATION: Thumb Tool & Engineering / 354 Liberty Street, Bad Axe, Michigan
Do you know your way around industrial equipment and love being the person who keeps it all running smoothly? If you've got technical training and some real shop-floor maintenance experience, you'll fit in fast as our Maintenance Technician.
Job Description:
The Maintenance Technician keeps our machines and equipment in working order. In this role, you'll own preventative maintenance, diagnose issues, support new installs, and carefully document your work to help minimize downtime across the entire operation.
Requirements:
  • Two years of technical training with at least one year of experience performing maintenance on industrial machinery and equipment (or equivalent)
  • Experience diagnosing issues and solving problems fast
  • Basic electrical knowledge

Preferences:
  • Advanced electrical installation experience
  • Ability to adjust machine and automation control parameters

Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and fabricate repair parts as needed.
  • Install new equipment and move existing machines using hoists, cranes, and power tools.
  • Create and communicate preventive maintenance schedules to reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Document work completed, issues found, and follow-up needs.
  • Keep learning through training, workshops, technical publications.
