Charles Deweese Construction, Inc. is looking for a Preventive Maintenance Tech
DESCRIPTION:
Performs preventive maintenance on construction and allied machinery under limited supervision. Possesses the mechanical knowledge and experience to capably complete work assignments in a safe and efficient manner.
REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent
Prior experience in basic mechanics and preventive maintenance is essential may be acquired through experience as Apprentice Mechanic or equivalent
Maintain a valid Commercial Driver's License and have the ability to operate company service trucks under DOT regulations
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English to comprehend technical data/service manuals
Ability to stand for extended periods of time, perform repetitive bending tasks and achieve required torque specifications per manufacturer's repair procedure
Strong verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal skills
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Under limited supervision performs preventive maintenance on construction and allied machinery using appropriate tooling and test equipment to capably complete the work in a timely and efficient manner with a high level of quality
Operates construction machinery, when appropriate to perform job assignment
Lifts parts and equipment components that weigh no more than 50 pounds when working alone or assisting others to make repairs to equipment
Operates material handling equipment as required and uses proper test equipment for troubleshooting
Reads and comprehends technical data/service manuals and writes legibly
Maintain a valid Commercial Driver's License to operate company truck
Performs standard preventive maintenance work assignments on CAT and allied construction machinery at customer jobsites with limited supervision in a timely and efficient manner with an acceptable level of quality.
Uses proper test equipment for troubleshooting
Complies with all work safety rules and procedures
Projects a positive company image by interacting with fellow employees, customers, and management in a cooperative, supportive and courteous manner; displays an attitude of professionalism; complies with company dress code
Operates and moves construction machinery when appropriate to perform job assignment
Writes accurate, legible service reports immediately upon completion of job
May be required to work overtime, or irregular shift, if needed
Comply with State/Federal and Company EPA regulations for prompt reporting of accidental release of environmentally regulated material(s) assigned to vehicle
Maintains company truck in a safe, clean, operable condition
Obeys state and company rules of the road. If accident occurs, fills out reports promptly
Performs other duties as necessary and assigned
