About Us: Vision House is a nonprofit Christian organization helping families with children break the cycle of homelessness. Through transitional housing, programs and supportive services, we provide families in Washington State with opportunities for life change to overcome trauma, generational poverty and situational homelessness. Job Summary: The Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for supporting the day-to-day maintenance operations at Vision House's Shoreline and Renton locations. This role includes handling maintenance requests, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring that the facilities, grounds, and vehicles are well-maintained. The Maintenance Coordinator also assists with apartment turnovers and other routine tasks to support the smooth functioning of the organization's facilities.


REPORTS TO:    Facilities Manager

HOURS:              Full-Time - 40 Hours per week

LOCATION:        Shoreline and Renton

As a Maintenance Coordinator you will:


  • Receive and investigate maintenance and repair requests, tracking work orders through the computer maintenance log.
  • Purchase and order supplies and equipment to meet routine maintenance, janitorial, and groundskeeping needs.
  • Assist with turning over apartment units for new tenants, including painting and minor repairs.
  • Move and set up furniture and equipment as needed.
  • Assist with the maintenance of company vehicles, ensuring they are safe and operational.
  • Perform groundskeeping tasks, including litter pickup and lawn care.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections of buildings and grounds to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Maintenance Coordinator candidates should have the following qualifications:

  • Preferred two years of experience in performing basic preventive maintenance functions.
  • Ability to work independently as a self-starter, while also collaborating effectively within a team.
  • Experience with basic construction projects, tools, and equipment handling.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and ability to work inside and outside in all types of weather.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Strong listening, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Personal qualities: approachable, empathetic, flexible, and discerning.
  • Basic computer knowledge and ability to use maintenance management software.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations related to facility management.
  • Washington State driver's license and ability to drive work trucks and vans.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Must be an active follower of Jesus Christ and have ability to sign our Statement of Faith.


Physical Demands/Work Requirements:


Medium to heavy physical work requiring prolonged standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and lifting items weighing 50 to 75 pounds.
