Position Summary:
We are seeking skilled and dedicated 2nd Pressman to join our day shift team, working from 6 AM to 6 PM for 3 to 4 days per week. In this role, you will operate and maintain cutting-edge printing equipment to deliver high-quality products.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist with full press setups: hanging plates, mounting blankets, changing ink, and helping bring jobs up to register.
  • Operate the press under the guidance of the 1st Pressman (adjusting register, pulling proofs, making minor corrections).
  • Monitor quality during the run and alert the 1st Pressman of potential issues.
  • Assist with wash-ups, color changes, and general press cleaning between jobs.
  • Prepare and stage materials (plates, ink, paper, chemicals) for upcoming runs.
  • Document production data and assist in job ticket completion as directed.
  • Support training of new employees and interns by showing them proper handling of stock, ink, and pressroom practices.
  • Act as backup to the 1st Pressman when they are away from the press.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience operating commercial web presses.
  • Experience with Heidelberg and Goss Web Presses is preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and maintain press equipment.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative press team.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven production environment.
