Job Summary:

We are currently recruiting for a Litho Press Helper, 2nd Shift to join our Production Team! This role will assist the Press Operators by operating the feeder and consistently keeping the press running, keeping the inks and water full during operation and assisting with maintenance and training on the press as needed.
Responsibilities:
  • Follows guidance and direction from Press Operator.
  • Understands ISO and complies with written procedures.
  • Follows daily schedule for workload and communicates problems or concerns, assisting in resolutions in a timely manner.
  • Checks cutting slip to verify count of stock is accurate prior to running, communicates discrepancies to supervisor.
  • Ensures make-ready times and materials used are minimized through proper planning of work.
  • Maintains knowledge of safety requirements of the job and equipment; becomes familiar with Material Safety Data Sheets regarding chemicals in use.
  • Wears appropriate safety protection when using or mixing chemicals and ensures proper handling and disposal of hazardous chemicals.
  • Maintains a high level of print quality to eliminate inspection delays and redo's.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on press such as lubrication, replacement of small parts, cleaning and minor adjustments.
  • Assists in other departments as needed and when workload permits.
  • Keeps work areas clear and organized; maintains housekeeping standards.
  • Performs other duties as requested.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two years of experience in a manufacturing environment, printing or packaging industry experience strongly preferred.
  • 6+ months experience in a sheet feeder, press helper, or similar role supporting press operations in printing or packaging industry strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to read and interpret ruler, scales and other measurement devices.
  • Must ensure proper stock is used for each job.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand at a workstation for duration of shift.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without mechanical assistance.
