Job description

We are currently looking for a Flexographic Printing Press Operator at our Griffin, GA location.
Essential Duties and Tasks:
  • Support and contribute to a healthy and safe work environment by following all workplace regulations, policies, and initiatives, including reporting all first aid injuries, accidents, and workplace hazards.
  • Operates and directs the operation of a Windmoller & Holscher (W&H) 10-color flexographic printing press to meet current Business Plan Objectives for press utilization, press speed, production efficiency and waste
  • Organizes work for smooth, efficient, operations; reviews production schedules, manufacturing order information, and other production documentation for completeness and accuracy
  • Coordinates resolution of production problems and communicates resolutions to team members and plant leadership team
  • Inspects press production and quality checklist daily; performs on the spot corrections of deficiencies and/or coordinates with maintenance, quality, or other support group for corrective action
  • Coordinates production and maintenance efforts to increase run time. Ensures planned maintenance is complete in a routine and timely manner; reports any process and equipment concerns promptly
  • Ensures communication between all crew members and shares knowledge of press operation
  • Troubleshoots problems and implements actions to prevent reoccurrence
  • Monitors production data and updates Daily Management System (DMS) at the end of each shift; responsible for waste and output of press
  • Trains and mentors Press Helpers, Press Assistants, and other Press Operators
  • Ensures assigned machine Preventive Maintenance (PM) is performed according to the schedule
  • Completes or checks all required tracking forms (Job Plan, Work Order Start-up form and housekeeping checklists)
  • Ensures materials are available for next order & next shift
  • Sets the example of safe operation by following established safety guidelines; follows established food safety guidelines; holds self and others accountable
  • Directs press crew on changeovers
