Garland Stainless Steel Manufacturing Company seeking an Experienced Press Brake Operator

Employment type: 2nd Shift-Full-Time (4) 10-Hour Days

Monday-Thursday 3:15pm-1:45am

Press Brake Operator will be responsible for producing high quality parts using both conventional and precision brake presses. We currently have 2 automated Amada HG’s and 2 Amada RG’s. Experience with these machines is a requirement. It is expected that an individual in this position has ability to work with minimal supervision and have a solid understanding of the metal fabrication bending process. The right person will need to evaluate engineering drawings, measure parts, and continually work to reduce set-up times, and increase output.

Typical Duties: Evaluate engineering drawings and select the correct tools for bending parts. Determine the bending process and set-up press for bending. This includes calculating flange sizes and keying information into the machine work console. You will also be required to inspect your work and make any adjustments needed to the machine. This person will be required to meet all established production schedules as determined by management. This individual must be able to work with other production personnel on corrective action/problem solving as required.

Experience and Skills Must Include:

· The ability to set-up and operate a Brake Press Machine

· Can interpret engineering drawings

· Able to use calipers, protractors, and basic hand tools related to the bending process

· Must have a strong knowledge of forming metal on machines

· Capable of working in a fast-paced sheet metal environment

· Be dependable

· Strong desire to succeed

· A high knowledge of shop mathematics as required for bending parts

· Skillful in problem solving part inconsistencies

Qualifications:

This person must have a minimum of two years’ experience working as a brake set-up operator

Experienced in all gauges of sheet metal and can demonstrate their ability to perform to our expectations

Bilingual Candidates (English/Spanish) is a PLUS, but not Mandatory. Candidate must be a Self-Starter, Motivated, and Dependable

Compensation: $20-$22 Hourly Depending on Experience
