Responsibilities:
Job Description
As a Security Technician, you will help maintain a safe, secure, and supportive environment for patients, visitors, employees, and all who interact with the organization. This role requires a vigilant and professional team member who can conduct thorough patrols, respond effectively to incidents, communicate clearly with diverse groups, and uphold safety and security standards across the facility. You will play a key part in risk prevention, emergency response, and ensuring smooth daily operations within the Security Department
  • Conducts routine and ad hoc patrols of hospital buildings and premises to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, and unauthorized visitors.
  • Conducts hazard surveillance for safety, security and infection control issues.
  • Completes activity log for each shift worked, detailing activities, accounting for complete shift or duty hours.
  • Checks equipment, including patrol vehicle daily, documenting on appropriate checklist.
  • Serves as an organizational member of the PHS ADS Hazardous Material / Decontamination team as required.
  • Responds to Workplace Violence reports, and notifies appropriate Security Division supervisor as appropriate.
  • Conducts investigations, maintains records and prepares incident reports and other documents pertaining to security as required.
  • Maintain and enforce established departmental/organizational policies and procedures.
  • Prepares written documentation as required by the profession, department and organization
  • Interacts and professionally manages issues with employees, physicians, visitors, contractors, and vendors and all who come in contact with PHS.
  • Collaborates with local, state and federal agencies as required and approved by PHS.
  • Keep supervisor informed of activities and location during the shift.
  • Respond to calls for key service, vehicle assist, and escorts in a timely manner.
  • Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, inservice meeting and scheduled training.

Qualifications:
  • Less than one year experience in general security, however 1 year security experience preferred.
  • Must possess effective communication and written and documentation skills.
  • Must be able to perform all requirements and training of a security technician.
  • Must be able to demonstrate familiarization of hospital locations and operations within 6 months of hire date.
  • All facilities require the ability to drive a company owned vehicle.
  • Must have a current New Mexico drivers license, and must be insurable by Presbyterian Healthcare Services
