Job description

Description

The Prepress Operator is responsible for setting up and operating prepress equipment and preparing materials for flexographic printing according to written and/or verbal instructions, established company procedures, safety, and quality guidelines. Capable of resolving routine production issues to ensure quality standards are met and to support press efficiency. Works with a commitment to quality, a sense of urgency, and a purpose of always exceeding customer expectations.


Responsibilities

Receive production order and job assignments from Lead and respond appropriately.

Read and understand job tickets to accurately define job requirements including colors, substrates, and production specifications.

Operate prepress equipment safely and efficiently producing quality products.

Prepare materials for production including file setup, plate/screen preparation, and part storage as required.

Inspection of prepared materials produced to job specifications and quality standards prior to release to production.

Collaborate with production to ensure job readiness and alignment with approved proofs or print requirements.

Complete production records as required by company policy.

Solve routine production issues related to prepress and job setup.

Ensure cleanliness of work area by maintaining organized equipment, materials, and workspace.

Project positive and professional behavior/attitude.

Follow administrative procedures established for inter/intradepartmental interaction.

Able to read, review and understand job tickets, proofs, and technical specifications.

Additional tasks/duties/special projects may be assigned, as necessary, including cross-department assignments.

Requirements

Screen, flexo or offset printing experience required

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required

Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience

Mechanical/machine skills required

Basic math skills
