We are looking to hire a Prepress Technician I to grow within our Prepress team in Duluth.


Job Description

Wallace Graphics is looking for a detail-oriented and motivated individual to join our Prepress team on 2nd shift. This is an entry-level position and a great starting point for someone looking to build a career in Prepress in commercial printing. You will learn the fundamentals of prepress operations, including digital proofing and plate production, in a fast-paced production environment.


Responsibilities

  • Operate digital proofing systems to produce color-accurate proofs for press approval
  • Run the platemaking process, including imaging, processing, and quality inspection of printing plates
  • Review job tickets and digital files to ensure specifications are met before production
  • Perform basic quality checks on proofs and plates to verify registration, resolution, and color accuracy
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the prepress area and equipment
  • Communicate job status and any issues to the shift supervisor or lead
  • Follow company safety and quality procedures

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Basic computer proficiency; experience with Adobe applications a plus but not required
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify color and print quality issues
  • Ability to work independently and follow established workflows
  • Comfortable standing for extended periods and working in a production environment
  • Reliable and punctual, with a commitment to meeting production deadlines
  • Prior printing or graphic arts experience is a plus but not required -- we will train the right person
