Pharmacy Technician – Evening Shift

Location: Marlborough, MA 01752
Pay Rate: $25.00/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 3:30 PM–12:00 AM, with every other weekend rotation from 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Hours: 40 hours per week

Position Overview

We are seeking dependable and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technicians to support pharmacy operations in Marlborough, MA. This role is responsible for accurately picking, labeling, scanning, packaging, and preparing completed prescriptions for final verification by a pharmacist.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced pharmacy environment, maintains a high level of accuracy, and holds an active Massachusetts Pharmacy Technician license.

Responsibilities

  • Fill daily medication orders accurately and efficiently under the supervision of a pharmacist.
  • Pick and pull medications from shelving, prepack racks, and other medication storage areas.
  • Apply labels to blister cards and scan products for accuracy verification.
  • Prepare completed prescriptions for final pharmacist review.
  • Assist with processing returned medications and proper recycling or disposal.
  • Prepack frequently ordered medications, label products, and store them appropriately.
  • Package medications and pharmacy materials manually as needed.
  • Alert the pharmacist on duty when medications or products do not scan properly.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
  • Replenish stock and supplies as needed.
  • Follow applicable pharmacy procedures, safety standards, and government regulations, including HIPAA.
  • Comply with departmental policies regarding attendance, safety, and dress code.
  • Work overtime, holidays, and weekends as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Active and clear Massachusetts Pharmacy Technician License issued by the Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy.
  • Ability to work accurately at a moderate pace.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to work the required evening shift and every-other-weekend rotation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous pharmacy technician experience.
  • Experience in a high-volume, long-term care, fulfillment, retail, or similar pharmacy setting.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, and bend throughout the workday.
  • Ability to sit or stand for approximately 7–10 hours per day.
  • Ability to work extended hours when needed.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Manual and finger dexterity sufficient to operate pharmacy and office equipment.
  • Visual acuity necessary to read fine print, labels, and medication information.
  • Ability to distinguish colors and adjust visual focus.
  • Ability to hear normal conversational voice levels.
