Job description

General Information:

Job title: Cook

Location: Crest View Nursing & Rehabilitation Center - New Lisbon, WI

Schedules Available: Full-time, 80 hours per week; 5:00am - 1:30pm.

Weekend rotation: Every other weekend

Holiday rotation: Every other holiday

Position Summary:

The Cook/Baker position prepares and cooks food in accordance with Blueprint menus and required dietary restrictions, cooking in large amounts. This is performed to feed residents who live or stay in the facility.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that areas are set up properly for lunch/dinner and serve food and drinks to residents in the dining room and on meal trays.
  • Prepare food for breakfast and food for lunch for residents and guests.
  • Clean the kitchen and dining area and wash dishes. Clean prep area, wipe down appliances, recalibrate thermometers, and empty garbage.
  • Put product away that has been delivered by truck.
  • Portion food in compliance with nursing home and elder nutrition program standards.
  • Prepare ready food items for pick up for the nutrition center.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Position Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1+ years of related work experience required.
  • Always Food Safe certification highly recommended.
  • Experience working in the healthcare industry a plus.
  • Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Intermediate proficiency with computers required.
  • Ability to read and follow large-scale recipes.
  • Understanding of commercial kitchen equipment.
  • Understanding of sanitation regulations and various dietary needs.
  • Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
