Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic Licensed Home/Auto Insurance Agent who has proven experience in identifying needs, prospecting to provide sales / service of Auto and Home insurance products offered by the credit union and assure the success and growth of the Insurance Services Department. The right candidate will have a sense of urgency and a strong commitment to delivering best-in-class service.
What You Will Do:
  • Assume responsibility for Insurance Sales.
  • Manage referrals and leads following Premier America's procedures and standards to provide accurate insurance quotes for our members.
  • Provide quality, professional service, and guidance in relation to member's insurance needs.
  • Qualify, Quote, and Bind coverage for the insurance products offered by the credit union to its members.
  • Maintain a complete understanding of the insurance products offered, educate members on the value of the products, and be capable of issuing new insurance policies on the platform of all the appointed carriers.
  • Use the Carriers underwriting guidelines and business appetite to qualify prospects and offer a suitable product.
  • Use the tools provided to successfully follow up with quoted prospects to discuss the member's insurance needs and offer solutions that best fit those needs.
  • Ensure effective performance in all activities relating to property and casualty insurance products as it pertains to assigned goals.
  • Probe to discover member's needs and cross sell opportunities. Conduct every member interaction following the procedures and standards of the Property Insurance Department.
  • Maintain an understanding of the appointed carriers' guidelines and procedures.
  • Ensure that credit union guidelines, requirements, and procedures are followed with each member interaction.
  • Follow the department procedures regarding distribution and tracking of referrals and leads and completing all activities in Salesforce and website generated leads.
  • Maintain an acceptable closing ratio regarding the leads provided.
  • Assume responsibility for member service transactions including, but not limited to: Policy changes, inquiries, payments, quotes and endorsements of policies.
  • Reply to the assigned underwriting memos within the time requested by the carrier.
  • Document all member interaction in the agency management system at the time the service is rendered.
  • Complete member requests for changes, questions, and payments to their policies on the same day requested and to the qualifying standards of the carrier and the credit union.
  • Process escrow mortgagee change requests same day as received.
  • Probe for cross-sell opportunities.
  • Call all policies pending cancellation to ensure policy retention. Contact assigned renewal policyholders to assure retention goals are met and to cross-sell and farm referrals.
  • Conduct every member interaction following the procedures and standards of The Property Insurance Department. Complete policy endorsements for all appointed carriers understanding each carriers underwriting guidelines.
  • Ensure credit union guidelines, requirements, and procedures are followed with every member interaction.
  • Assume responsibility for the effective performance of the Property Insurance Department.
  • Document all interactions with members and insurance prospects in CMS agency management system and set suspense for follow up.
  • Ensure effective performance in all activities relating to property and casualty insurance products as it pertains to assigned goals.
  • Use our provided technology, procedures, and guidelines to provide efficient, quality, timely service to our members and meet assigned sales and retention goals.
  • Work with the manager to resolve issues and develop a game plan for success.
  • Report activities to the manager by required deadlines.
  • Respond to carriers underwriting memos by required deadline.
  • Assist in the day-to-day operation of the insurance dept.
  • Maintain a full understanding of the compliance regulations of the insurance industry, insurance carriers, and Premier America
  • Work with the department leadership to resolve issues and develop a successful game plan.
  • Ensure effective performance in all activities relating to property and casualty insurance products as it pertains to assigned goals.
  • Complete all tasks assigned in your daily suspense queue by the end of each workday.
  • Track and report activities including new policy sales, gift card distribution, referrals, and training completed to manager by required deadline.
  • Consistently comply with expectations of the department Service level agreements.
  • Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective communication and coordination with Premier America staff.
  • Stay informed of trends and changes in the Insurance field.
  • Attend seminars and professional conferences as necessary. Understands underwriting guidelines of all appointed carriers and keeps up on all changing guidelines.

Requirements
What We Are Looking For:
  • Experience and understanding of the insurance products sold and the terminology used in industry.
  • High school diploma required.
  • Maintain an active P&C insurance license clear of judgements in the states where the credit union conducts business.
  • Understanding of product positioning and competitive conditions.
  • Knowledge of sales and marketing techniques and principles.
  • Strong interpersonal and public relations skills.
  • Excellent sales abilities.
  • Bilingual Spanish speaking preferred.
  • Solid presentation skills, with professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and follow-through skills, with analytical problem-solving abilities.
  • Able to work well independently

To provide greater transparency to candidates, we share base pay ranges for all our job postings regardless of State. We set standard pay ranges for all roles based on function and level of expertise, benchmarked against similar stage growth companies. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including, skills, depth of work experience and relevant licenses/credentials, and may vary from the amounts listed below.
The base pay range for this position is: $25.00/hour plus earned commission.
