Job description

Responsibilities
The Crane and Hoist Assistant Preconstruction Manager role supports the planning, coordination, and execution of crane and hoist operations during the preconstruction phase of our projects, working under the guidance of the Preconstruction Manager. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of CAD software.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned):
  • Collaborate with project teams to assess and determine crane and hoist requirements for upcoming projects.
  • Support the development of preconstruction plans for crane and hoist operations, including site layout, logistics, and safety protocols.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify potential challenges and solutions.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to secure the necessary equipment and ensure timely delivery.
  • Create detailed design plans and site layouts using CAD software to support preconstruction planning.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to crane and hoist operations.
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to integrate crane and hoist requirements into project plans.
  • Prepare cost estimates and budgets for crane and hoist operations and monitor expenses to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Provide technical expertise and support during the bidding and proposal process.
  • Ensure compliance with B&G's safety standards and protocols, including STCKY (Stuff That Can Kill You) initiatives.
  • Train and mentor junior staff and new hires on crane and hoist preconstruction procedures and safety standards.

Education - Skills - Knowledge - Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in preconstruction preferred.
  • Must have working knowledge of CAD.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Experience with cranes a plus.
