Job Description

SITECH NorCal has a need for a Sales Engineer Precision Products based at our Aurora, OR location.

SUMMARY

The Sales Engineer Precision Products is responsible for maintaining client relationships and conducting Precision Product sales in the assigned territory. Maintains close liaison and frequent communications with customers and works to develop new business. Coordinates and cooperates with several departments to accomplish job. This position requires a well-organized individual with excellent communication and planning skills plus the ability to manage multiple projects. The individual will continually interact with a variety of employees, suppliers, and customers. In addition, you will work with a wide range of continually changing products and in a number of complex markets. This position requires the Sales Engineer Precision Products to be away from the employer's place of business more than 50% of the time interacting with customers at their locations and/or job sites. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Identify new SITECH customers and represent our product line to them by making face-to-face presentations.

  • Contacts potential customers by telephone when face-to-face call is not practical.

  • Build and cultivate relationships with both new and existing SITECH accounts.

  • Calls on all assigned accounts at least twice each year.

  • Presents sales literature and brochures to customers and prospects.

  • Informs customers of new product developments and improvements.

  • Identifies and calls on the decision-maker in customer's company.

  • Corresponds with customers in writing as follow-up of contact when appropriate.

  • Recognizes and develops new prospects in the territory.

  • Successfully develops sales potential in territory. Achieves a high level of market penetration, with acceptable profit levels as determined by management.

  • Networks with other Peterson sales representatives, product support sales representatives and other employees from Peterson's divisions to share leads for all company products and services.

  • Presents equipment features and benefits to customers in person, and determine additional information needed to meet the customer's specific needs.

  • Provides written product quotes that includes the cost benefits to the customer by purchasing equipment and the equipment features and benefits compared to similar competition.

  • Coordinates and attends delivery of each new or used system sold.

  • Demonstrates the Trimble AG Products and assists other salesmen when needed.

  • Follows up with customer after sale to ensure machine acceptance and satisfaction.

  • Accurately forecast sales volumes on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

  • Work with Peterson sales team to represent technology products to CAT/Peterson customers.

  • Maintain all sales activity in CRM (currently using SalesForce).

  • Promptly report all sales to ensure timely billing (report in SalesForce as Closed/Won).

  • Maintain strong knowledge of product line and local applications.

  • Deliver products to customers and train the customers on integrating our products with their operation.

  • Proceeds methodically, handling objections, problem solving, and obtaining a thorough understanding of the customers' needs until the sale is consummated.

  • Prepares and presents effective sales proposals to customers and prospects.

  • Develops accurate pricing on Trimble Ag Systems and add-on's for customer proposals.

  • Communicates with credit department to arrive at acceptable terms of financial conditions to consummate the sale prior to presentation to the customer.

  • Up to 50% local and regional travel required, up to 20% overnight travel required.

  • Operate company or personal vehicle as needed.

  • Maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree from a fully accredited college; and at least 4 years of directly related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Solid knowledge of related industry, equipment, and customers highly preferred.

Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
