About the job

We are a world class manufacturer of precision engineered, precision fabricated, pre-cast concrete products and related structural steel elements required for the support of vibration sensitive semiconductor production equipment.

We are seeking an experienced, highly skilled Structural/Civil Engineer to join our team. This person is responsible for the engineering, calculations, and stamped structural packages associated with our products. This person will work with Design, Manufacturing, Install, and our customers to create new products and solve problems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Produce and stamp structural calculation and drawing packages for customer record and submittal to AHJ as required per IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI

  • Interpret customer provided requirements (specification manuals, construction drawings). Assist Sales with preliminary design concepts for quoting purposes.

  • Communicate with customers and vendors.

  • Assist Design with structural feasibility. Create models for FEA and generate performance reports.

  • Review plans to ensure customer requirements for structural and dynamic performance are met.

  • Perform inspections as needed in Manufacturing to ensure design intent and stamped packages are followed.

  • Document control for all internal inspections, customer generated RFI's, and Customer specific approval process.

  • Mentor and support junior engineers/designers on complex projects

  • Maintain organized records

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5-10 years of relevant experience.

  • Oregon Civil/Mechanical Professional Engineer license is mandatory.

  • Professional Engineer license (or the ability to obtain one in six months) is required.

  • Reciprocity through the NCEES record system.

  • Working knowledge and experience with structural, seismic and vibration analyses is mandatory.

  • Experience performing seismic restraint anchorage analyses and calculations is required.

  • Proficiency with RISA (or similar) structural software, Hilti Profis anchorage software, AutoCAD, BIM360.

  • Familiarity with structural connections and welding codes.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve complex issues in a timely fashion and under pressure.

  • Ability to organize and present technical information in an understandable manner to multiple audiences.

  • Outstanding customer interaction skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Highly collaborative nature, a positive "can-do" attitude, and adapt easily to change.

  • Valid Oregon driver's license and a clean driving record.

  • Follow all company safety processes and procedures, including wearing PPE when necessary.

PREFERENCES:

  • Hands-on experience with stiffness and vibration testing.

  • Semiconductor industry experience.

  • Hands-on experience working in Manufacturing.

  • Dassault Solidworks and/or Autodesk Inventor experience.

EDUCATION:

  • BS in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university.

ENVIRONMENT:

  • Office environment that supports fast-paced manufacturing work cells.

  • Occasional visits to manufacturing floor where PPE must be worn.

  • This is an onsite position, not a hybrid position. Some remote work is allowed on an as-needed basis.

  • Travel time up to 20% may be required.

  • Full-time, permanent position.
