Group/Division

With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA's metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. Central Engineering is KLA's largest engineering organization comprised of 9 Centers-of-Excellence (CoE) in various disciplines applied across all product groups in the company. Are you a seasoned Precision Mechanical Engineer ready to take on exciting challenges? Join our multi-disciplinary team at KLA, where you'll help design groundbreaking mechatronics systems for semiconductor inspection and metrology tools.
In this role with our Central Engineering team, you'll have the opportunity to grow in all aspects of precision motion systems, including modeling, prototyping, FEA, and coding for data analysis and visualization. At KLA, we're not just imagining the future-we're crafting it!

What you will be doing:
  • Model, design, and prototype high performance linear and rotary motion systems.
  • Develop, build, and test precision mechatronics subsystems.
  • Use analytical and numerical methods for design decision making.
  • Drive concept generation and design trade off studies to balance technical challenges and customer needs.
What you will need to be successful in this role:
  • Master's or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience with high precision mechanical hardware is required.
  • Experience in either precision machine design or motion control is required.
  • Willingness to grow in areas such as vibrations, controls, and Electromagnetics.
  • Experience doing finite element analysis.
  • Knowledge of MATLAB or LabVIEW and Python.
  • Enjoy hands-on challenges, collaboration, and delivering great results.
  • Experience with CAD and a passion for design.
  • Willingness for occasional domestic and international travel dependent on business needs (not to exceed 20%).

Minimum Qualifications

Doctorate (Academic) Degree and 0 years related work experience; Master's Level Degree and related work experience of 3 years; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 5 years
